Growing Greens

Aside from learning that plants and trees sequester carbon to remove carbon dioxide and cool the earth, children also learnt that growing vegetable garden helps to avoid unnecessary packaging and transportation to supermarket that helps to reduce their carbon footprints too. With all this knowledge in mind, our special agents embarked on growing their own vegetable garden. Guided by the teachers, the children used their green thumb to work with sand, soil, compost and seeds. Using recycled toilet paper rolls as their seed pots, mixture of soil, sand and compost, the children planted the seeds diligently. They demonstrated their enthusiasm and perseverance to plant the seeds.

It was such a purposeful activity for the children. And it was indeed rewarding to see our children’s commitments to nurture their plants with positive hopes to observe the plants’ growth. These small beginnings enabled us to see that great things really happen when we dream big.

Continue to join us on our growing journey against climate change, and together let’s work and wait until it’s harvest time!
