Methodist Church of the Incarnation Kindergarten - Growing in Love and Kindness towards the Elderly

Teaching our children about love, respect and kindness stems from our inspiration from the Bible on “loving your neighbours as yourself”. The K2 children wrapped up the last phase of their SSDB project by way of reaching out to the elderly who are frail and fragile and recuperating at St Luke’s Hospital. They were happy that they could yet again act with grace and compassion, looking out for the well-being of others and this time, the senior citizens, who are totally different from them.

They worked hard to prepare for their visit to present singing items from ward to ward in the hospital. They sang 我看见神的爱 and 月亮代表我的心 with all their heart to the delight of the patients. They wished the elderly well and presented them with toiletry gifts and self made ‘get well’ cards.

Our children’s mission was finally accomplished. They realised that though they are much younger than the seniors, they can be a blessing by extending their hand of friendship and bringing cheer to the elderly through their warm smile, greetings and well wishes.
