MFS MK8 Children's Day Charity Bazaar

The children of  My First  Skool Ang  Mo Kio Blk 229 celebrated their children’s day by creating upcycled crafts for a Charity Bazaar. The fund-raising was in collaboration with Bright  Horizons Fund (BHF), established by NTUC First Campus Co-operative Limited. Proceeds raised were given to BHF, which aims to enable children from low-income families to benefit from quality pre-school education.

It was heartwarming to see the children from toddler to K2 classes being heavily involved in making upcycled crafts for this meaningful event.

During the celebration, the children and parents were engaged in a DIY money box activity which was made out of cardboards. As the children were able to decorate their money box, they were more excited to start saving money.

In reinforcing the concept of upcycling, the children and parents were given a challenge to create a Halloween costume out of recycled materials and dressed up during the celebration. Just look at these creative costumes which were made from recyclables!

Our charity bazaar was made possible through the children’s interesting crafts and generous donations from their parents. The teachers’ involvement and dedication were appreciated as well. Everyone played a significant role in ensuring this event was a success.

And, that was a wrap for our SSDB story! This project has been a good learning experience especially for the young children. They learnt that they could make a difference in other people’s lives, give back to society and to build our world.
